2019 Rotorua Marathon
A traditional sound pierces the morning mist ...
As well as the famous miniature cannon thundering the starts, the thousands of entrants were seen on their way by a stunning performance from representatives of local iwi.
The quality field in the Marathon produced very exciting racing for the podium positions, with Ciaran Faherty pulling away in the last kilometres, heading Blair McWhirter and Michael Voss. A tight finish in the womens Marathon as well with local runner Alice Mason taking line hours 37 seconds ahead of Cecilia Flori.
