2018 Bays Swim
New life to a classic
Round two in this season's Auckland Central Masters open water swim series saw entrants offered two options:
A 4 km swim starting at Glendowie Boat Club, along the coast outside the buoy located offshore at north end of Karaka Bay, along the coast past the white stick round the buoy in St Heliers Bay to finish, or a 2.6 km swim starting at Karaka Bay to the buoy located offshore at north end of Karaka Bay, along the coast past the white stick round the buoy in St Heliers Bay to finish.
These events which were the Auckland Open Water Swimming Champs had an extra challenge to them with the rain at the start reducing visibility, and a somewhat choppy sea. Fortunately the weather cleared with teh Sun breaking through as entrants reached the finish at St Heliers Bay.
