2018 City to Surf
A fresh breeze .. and some changes afoot.
Event Promotions annual City to Surf has traditionally had registration for the City to Surf, and Half Marathon events at the Tauranga Yacht & Power Boat Club, and registration for the Surf to Surf based at the Mount Maunganui Life Guard Service clubrooms. With the construction of new clubrooms for the Life Guard Service well underway registration was held in the nearby Oceanside Resort and Twin Towers.
The fresh breeze did not have a negative impact on enjoyment - or times.
Penny Purcell won the Half Marathon walk beating her 2017 time by two minutes. This years Half Run winner, Ben Ruthe, was three minutes faster than Luke Williams winning time in 2017.
