2018 Athletics New Zealand NZ Marathon Championships

Near perfect conditions this year for Athletics New Zealand's Rotorua Marathon - calm and enough cloud to control the heat.

Christchurch's Blair McWhirter was a convincing winner in the annual race around the Lake in 2:29:00, a win which saw him collecting the New Zealand national title.

Cambridge's Alice Mason was first placed woman in 2:46:44 retaining her national marathon title.

It was amazing to experience the warm hospitality and strength of local support after such a challenging week for the Rotorua community, many of whom were cleaning up homes and businesses after the localised flooding.

Once again we enjoyed working with the teams from Event Promotions, Lake CIty Athletic Club, and Taupo's AVP at this great event. Thanks to Athletics New Zealand for choosing us as their timing partner.
