... generously hosted the Tough Guy & Gal National Champs, and open events on the traditionally muddy, wet, and "undulating" course - all shown to best effect by the sparkling sun.
Angus McKelvie from Palmerston North retained the Male title in 1:03:30 with a thrilling two second win over Wellington's Andy John, while Kaleb Wright taking bronze medal. In the women's race Debbie Donald had an emphatic win over second placed Melanie Stowell, Melanie also taking the senior women's crown.
In the 12k open events Gerry Tooman from New Plymouth took line honours, with Tasmyn Benny showing a clean pair of heels (well maybe not so clean) to the female field with a near four minute margin.
Whanganui's Ben Conder took line honours in the 6k. The sixteen year old had a near four minute margin over second placed Paora Raharaha. There was a much closer race in the 6k women with Tauranga residents Alana Meredith and Adele Jonnart battling for first and second.
Today's the Day Fitness completed their season in style taking out the Gym/Club Teams challenge with C & R Developments taking teh Corporate trophy.
