After many Cook Strait crossings ...

.. a first.

Instead of the "normal" entry from the Sounds into Cook Strait through Tory Channel, the Kaiarahi sailed past the Aratere (as pictured), then headed right down Queen Charlotte Sound before a gentle turn East towards Makara.
