2018 Copthorne Off-Road Half Marathon
Running Rotorua's fabulous MTB trails
For the past few year's we have packed up our equipment in New Plymouth after the Mountain to Surf, then headed past Awakino, through Benneydale, and on to Rotorua for the off-road half. It is a spectacular drive, well worth the concentration required.
Unfortunately this year we acquired a nail through a tyre when timing in New Plymouth so we needed help from the AA to change the wheel - with a fully loaded van the standard jack is somewhat jittery. This delayed us a little and made the room at the Copthorne all the more welcome.
Sunday was another gloriously warm day in Rotorua as entrants of all ages enjoyed the rare opportunity to run through the forests at Lake City Athletics annual off-road half marathon.
Once again our thanks to the team at Event Promotions for enabling us to enjoy a great day in the park.
