2018 Mountain to Surf
42.2km from Mount Taranaki to New Plymouth
Leaving the warmth and comfort of the Plymouth International we drove to Egmont Village then headed up Egmont Road to greet the dawn - and the Marathon walkers as they exited the special bus on the slopes of Mount Taranaki.
A 6.30 start for the Walkers signalled by a shotgun blast that startled the possums.
An hour later the runners headed off, with us following them and their supporters cars, as we headed to New Plymouth's outstanding coastal walkway for the Finish of the Mountain to Surf.
