As many of the runners and walkers in Event Promotions Mitre 10 MEGA Tauranga City to Surf enjoyed the post race shade and shelter, as those who lay back on the beach-front and enjoyed the warmth
Matt Varley and Olivia Burne were first male and female in the half marathon run. For the third consecutive year Penny Purcell took over-all line honours in the half marathon walk.
The City to Surf run saw Cameron Swales and Sarah Gardner take gender honours, with Bruce Hibbert Warburton and Robyn White earniong gender honours in the City to Surf walk.
One of the day's most impressive performances was from Charo Heijnen in the 5k fun run/walk - the under 16 year old achieving fastest female time.
