Starting from Moutoa Gardens A mild calm start for the Marathon Walkers at 6 am saw the start of the day's events. The heat, and pace, picked up throughout the day. Hasting's Vern Preston took out the Marathon Run in 2:59:23, with the Marathon Walk honours going to Donna Roderick in 4:56:51.
